According to the latest industry research outdoor space tops the wish lists of tenants when searching for a property to rent in the UK.
It looked at factors directly related to the property, on top of the obvious – price and location.
The study found that when searching for a new accommodation to rent almost half (42 per cent) of tenants were most interested in finding a property that had its own garden, terrace or balcony and only 11 per cent of respondents would be content with communal space.
Those who took part in the research also highlighted other key features they look for in a property including parking (34 per cent), modern interiors (27 per cent), while energy efficiency and high-speed internet connectivity were also very popular amongst renters.
Experts believe that as the quality of rental properties coming on to the market improves, renters are more selective with their choices and are focusing on properties which meet a variety of factors.
With luxuries such integrated smart technology and amenities such as concierge and on-site gyms becoming more commonplace, expectations in properties are rising.
